I bought the muffler and airfilter separately. They should be included in the price of the dryer. It cuts the sound level down more than half. It also filters more hair away from getting inside the dryer.

Better Than Nothing, But Could Be Improved
These do help reduce the noise, which is a plus. However, there are several design and installation issues that make them frustrating to use. The parts are sold separately, and installing them—especially on a double-barrel dryer—is a real challenge. The back screws are extremely hard to get back in due to the tight space, and you really have to work at it to get them properly installed.
Once in place, the mufflers make it difficult to access the power switch or turn the fan on and off. In some cases, you may need to remove the front bracket just to reach the switch. There's also no good spot to hang the power cable, so it ends up looped over the back, right where the hose would normally go.
For the price, the value isn’t great. That said, they are still better than having no sound dampening at all. Just be prepared for a difficult setup and some daily-use compromises.
